The new Pompei Scavi station project involves the re-functionalization and regeneration of the Pompei railway interchange HUB, which will connect the Naples-Salerno line (RFI) with the Naples-Sorrento line (EAV).
For this project LTT was commissioned to provide consultancy and BIM services for the realisation of the multidisciplinary models of the Developed Design.
The project consists of the construction of a new line stop in the area close to the Archaeological Park of Pompeii.
In addition to the station, it includes a new ground-level car park and a pedestrian path within a new Urban Park, between the overpass of Via Masseria Curato and the pedestrian footbridge.
The Main Building has a ‘bridge’ structure that overlooks and connects the two 250 m side pavements, where the historical buildings of the former Pompeii Scavi stop will be reused.
A long footbridge descends gently, connecting the raised plate with the pedestrian area from which access is gained to the EAV stop and the archaeological site of the Pompeii excavations.
