What is
Building Information Modeling


  • NETWORK, in other words infrastructures spread throughout the territory and intended for a wide community, with the characteristic of HORIZONTAL DEVELOPMENT.
  • PUNCTUALS, building organizations realized in certain areas intended for a more local community, with the characteristic of having a VERTICAL DEVELOPMENT.

The difference in the development of these two types of works leads to a selection of the most suitable BIM instrumentation to generate the digital twin of the work enriched with the necessary information for all phases of the process.


This is a fundamental word that encapsulates the great potential of the BIM process: the realization of a digital model that is nothing but a database of information hidden under the purely visual part of the 3D model, of the tables, of the photo-realistic renderings in VR.

The information data contained in the digital model can be further structured thanks to Big-Data analysis, shared through the cloud, filtered and archived through standards that help define:

  • the figures in charge of data management,
  • define the roles,
  • information flows,
  • the uses these must have,
  • the most suitable technological platform for information storage.

All these elements, coordinated and integrated with each other, are used throughout the entire life cycle of the building.

  • Like MODEL: that is the digital product of the process, concrete and deliverable, which describes not only the three-dimensional geometry, but is a real container of all the information related to a building.
  • As MODELING: intended as a working methodology based on collaboration (built on the concept of interoperability) between the different professionals involved in the building process to obtain a model.
  • As MANAGEMENT: in other words, the management of the information present on the model during the entire life cycle of the work and everything that surrounds it.
